Organic Personal Care Market Expected at $15.98 Billion by 2020

November 10th, 2014

In a recent article entitled, Organic personal care market likely to post double-digit annual growth to 2020, by Simon Pitman, we learn that “most global regions are expected to post near double-digit annual growth in organic personal care over the next six years,” according to a new market research report. Grand View Research said the global market is slated to grow from approximately $8.20 billion in 2013 to approximately $15.98 billion by the year 2020, showing annual growth rates between nine and 10 percent across Asia, Europe and North America.Grand View Research believes that most of the growth is being driven primarily by increasing consumer awareness of organic products and product innovation.

Herbalix (www.Herbalix.com) is seeing growth in the organics marketeplace as well. In the past, personal care products for body cleansing primarily included  soap, body washes and  scrubs. Today, modern technologies are more scientific such as the company’s skin purging therapies which are of great interest to the medical community.

Of biggest concern are the commercial deodorants/antiperspirants that contain any type of aluminum, alum, petroleum or propylene glycol, which can lead to the buildup of chemicals under the arms. This can often not only result in irritation, but can also cause hygiene problems, or worse. Antiperspirants may leave a residual of alum salts in the underarm, and over a short period of time undetermined DNA damage might occur under the arms.

There is one unique product from Herbalix that can help eliminate any bad chemicals from our bodies — the Herbalix Nighttime Cleansing Detox Deodorant™.  It has been formulated to cleanse away buildup of unhealthy chemicals inside the body, and to release waste fluids. This in turn encourages healthy lymphatic flow, and absorbs all types of aluminums.  The bonus is that this process encourages a reduction in daytime odors.

An organic non-aluminum deodorant, the popular Herbalix Nighttime Detox Cleansing Deodorant™ offers an exceptional cleanse while it also deodorizes while you sleep. Daytime deodorants typically work during the day to regulate and absorb odors. Herbalix deodorants are all made with certified organic ingredients and no synthetic chemicals or aluminums.

Herbalix is seeing growth as well, with particular interest among medical practitioners who are purchasing and reselling the company’s skin purging detox products to patients in need.

Breast Awareness Month 2014: Pinpointing Critical Factors Leading to Poor Breast Health

Breast Health Awareness

Please consider October as the month to include breast health awareness and not just breast cancer.  Breast awareness needs full participation by everyone, especially the male population whose increase in the knowledge of the health and well-being of breasts will provide a greater understanding to all.

Herbalix Restoratives captured a vast amount of in depth information as related to breast and underarm issues, gained from two clinical trials.  The first clinical trial focused on the Nighttime Cleansing Detox Deodorant – Trial #061218-150 – April 6, 2007, and the second one using the Sentinel Breast Crème in conjunction with Detox Deodorant  (WIRB #IRB00000533, 2013), both conducted in the United States.

Part One: First Clinical Trial

Comparing antiperspirants versus Herbalix aluminum-free Nighttime Cleansing Detox Deodorant™ on human subjects.

To capture and record the data, and in order to compare before and after, we applied tape strips in both the left and right underarm of each subject.  The tissue residual found in each tape stripping was measured by mass spectrometry.  With this measurement the lab could determine how much aluminum was present in the underarm.

The three week study began with a baseline measurement where each subject wore no deodorant or antiperspirant for one week. In the second week all subjects applied antiperspirant and in the final week all subjects applied the Herbalix Nighttime Cleansing Detox Deodorant. In this manner, a graph was established showing the weekly changes.

  1. The first week was created as a baseline and showed that all subjects had varying levels of accumulated alum salts and that there was no symmetry, on one side verses the other.
  2. The second week where the subjects applied antiperspirants, there was a spiking on one side versus the other. It further showed that in the non-dominant (or weaker) arm, there was a higher level of alum salts recorded when using the antiperspirant.
  3. The final week showed not only a drop in the amount of alum salt recorded but also showed symmetry in each subject and in one case the level of accumulated alum salt had dropped below baseline.

After reviewing and studying this data, we asked ourselves, “Why did alum salts store in the non dominant arm more than the dominant side?”  And since breast cancer statistics showed that the upper outer quadrant of the left breast is the predominant location when detecting first stage breast cancer, we wanted to understand why this would be so.  When we analyzed the data and researched further, and when speaking with actual customers (nurses, doctors, buyers, and consumers), we were able to determine that in most cases, when the subject was right handed, their breast issues appeared on the left side and vs versa.

Statistically more people are right handed than left handed, so that number should be higher automatically and would mean that something else is contributing to stagnation on the non-dominant side,  which is leading to congested lymph nodes and further deterioration of breast health.

We decided after this clinical to investigate breast issues for the upper outer quadrant contacting universities, clinics, scientists, medical groups, etc. for any information on this connection.  We found very little information on the correlation to non-dominant arm and aluminum salts.  Doctors do not normally ask whether the patient is right or left handed. However, doctors, radiologists and operating room nurses report that the left upper outer of the left breast is the most common site for early stage diagnosis.

In 2006 we came upon a group of special international scientists working on similar studies and connections on breast cancer.

In 2006 we came upon a group of special international scientists working on similar studies and connections on breast cancer.  They work together under the Keele University Aluminum Scientists Group. Dr.  Philippa Darbre from the UK has amassed a vast amount of information on antiperspirants and breast cells.  In two laboratory studies conducted by Dr. Darbre, she reported findings of alum in the fluids of breast cysts as well as in breast tumors.

Antiperspirants most always consist of alum salts.  The law of osmosis allow these salts to be absorbed and seep into the sweat ducts and in doing so shut them down.  Aluminum has no known human benefit.  It causes oxidative stress and a buildup overtime shows up in other areas.  (Further information will be provided in a follow up article).  One cannot separate the underarm from other parts of the body.  (E.g. The breast drains into the underarms.) We all need to aware of the blockage which antiperspirants are so effective in creating and the trapped residual alum salts backing up into the surrounding tissue including the breasts.

It is amazing that people still use antiperspirants and that relatively little research has been done to examine the connection between antiperspirants and breast cancer

Studies on the long term use of antiperspirants should be available for public review, but they are nowhere to be found.
